Steve Marsh

Project Engineer

The Project Engineer reports to their designated Senior Project Manager and assists in meeting goals through administrative and accounting support functions and some on site inspection responsibilities.
Education/Experience Requirements
A minimum of two years of work experience in a construction environment or an AA degree and one year of work experience in a similar environment; or a Construction Management Certificate from an accredited source
Knowledge, skills and abilities
- Solid background in construction methods and philosophies
- Comfortable operating in PC environment with basic skills including: creating documents and spreadsheets using MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook. Knowledge of Prolog, Timberline, and/or MS Project a plus
- Ability to accurately read and interpret blue prints and shop drawings
- Strong attention to detail, principally while multi-tasking
- Capable of positively representing the company through strong and professional verbal and written communication skills
- LEED project experience is a plus

Project Manager
Seattle / Part-Time
The Project Manager has the responsibility of directing all aspects of construction management, information flow and documentation between the Owner, Architect, Tenant, and Field Superintendent. The Project Manager is required to set procedures; establish construction schedules; interpret and clarify construction documents as to the intent of the Architect and the Owner; and qualify all sub-contract bids to ensure that they are thorough. It is the Project Manager’s responsibility for project startup through to completion and final billing.
Education/Experience Requirements
BA or BS Degree in Business, Engineering or preferably in Construction Management with ten (10) years previous experience in a construction management environment. LEED AP or equivalent.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
- Solid background in construction, bidding and estimating
- Proven track record of problem solving issues including but not limited to Owner, Architect, Field Superintendent, personnel and project hindrances
- Professional appearance and attitude, possessing strong verbal and written communication skills to represent The Contractor Construction Group in a positive and professional manner
- Thorough knowledge of Project Management coordination and scheduling
- Ability to read and interpret blue prints and shop drawings accurately
- Proficient at reading, writing and comprehending contractual legal documents and/or draft addendum’s
- PC literate for correspondence, spread sheet tracking and project management coordination, including basic skills with MS Office. Knowledge of Prolog, Timberline and/or MS Project a plus
- Demonstrates established and consistent methods of multi-tasking abilities and attention to detail
- LEED project experience is a plus

The Field Superintendent at The Contractor is responsible for directing and coordinating activities of field crews, subcontractors, and vendors to insure goals and objectives of each project are met in accordance with established budgets, schedules and company policies.
Education/Experience Requirements
Must have a minimum of ten (10) years construction experience preferably in Tenant Improvement and/or New Construction
Knowledge, skills and abilities
- Solid background in commercial Tenant Improvement and/or New Construction
- Proven track record of problem solving issues including but not limited to Owner, Sub-Contractors, Project Manager, and project hindrances
- Ability to read and interpret blue prints and shop drawings accurately
- Demonstrates established and consistent methods of multi tasking abilities and attention to detail
- Comfortable operating in PC environment with basic skills including MS Word, as well as the ability to send and retrieve email.
- Knowledge of Prolog and MS Project a plus
- LEED project experience is a plus

Amy Rivers

Graduating summa cum laude, Amy works with the passion of a fully staffed design team.
Her duties include participation at the pre-construction planning phase, project scheduling, and coordinating corporate-wide field operations and staffing for the firm.
She serves as Union Labor Coordinator on behalf of The Contractor for all union trade disputes and resolutions.
Her expert navigation skills in challenging logistic conditions and a thorough knowledge of complex building systems have resulted in a number of successful projects.
Craig Forest

Leading the front-lines, Craig is a tactical genius when it comes to meeting the client’s needs.
He is responsible for the daily operation of projects under his supervision including management and coordination with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and the project team to ensure successful completion that is within budget and adheres to time constraints.
Craig has led the completion effort on a number of sustainable construction projects that have been certified by the U.S. Green Building Council, and is experienced with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) building requirements.
